I've been thru Permafrost several times on different toons, xp'ing and farming Diamond Dust. The only time I have seen the crystal for the Silverwing quest drop is from what I believe is a spawned mob an elite Honor guard I think is the name. Luckily the crystals are tradeable.

Permafrost is permanently frozen ground that underlies much of the landscape in the Arctic. It affects nearly everything in the Arctic ecosystem, including soils, vegetation, water, and wildlife. During summer months, the top layer of soil thaws creating a wet landscape with rapid runoff.

Jul 22,  · Permafrost Keep is an ancient ice giant castle that has fallen into ruin, buried in the glaciers that are slowly claiming the northlands. Most of the ancient castle lies in ruins, and what is left consists of rediscovered areas of the old castle and a warren of caves dug out by the goblins who owe fealty to the great dragon Lady Vox.

Permafrost, also known as perennially frozen ground, is generally considered to be a thickness of soil, surficial deposits, or bedrock at a variable depth below the surface of the earth in which the temperature of the matrix has existed below the freezing point of water for a period of at least several years.

Permafrost is the fortress of the Kromise Ice Giants and the former residence of Vox, the White Dragon. Throughout the frozen courtyard and the ice-lined halls of the citadel the giants roam, while working the great furnace are their allies, the Icegill Goblins. Although Vox is no more, the Kromise defend Permafrost with great fervor and will treat any trespasser with hostility. Entrance From.

Permafrost is permanently frozen ground. For example, in Fairbanks, Alaska, the soil is frozen just some 30 to 40 centimeters below the surface, and in fact, has been frozen for the last several thousand years and maybe even longer.

Permafrost, perennially frozen ground, a naturally occurring material with a temperature colder than 0 °C (32 °F) continuously for two or more years. Such a layer of frozen ground is designated exclusively on the basis of temperature.
